Saint Philip Roman Catholic Parish issued the following announcement on September 13.

A blessed September to one and all. This week’s Gospel calls us to forgive one another and to rely upon God’s mercy toward us. Pope Francis, in his book, Meeting Jesus in the Sacraments notes, “Forgiveness is not the fruit of our own eorts but rather a gift. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit who fills us with the wellspring of mercy and of grace.” Sometimes, the most dicult person to forgive is ourselves. At other times, we are challenged to forgive a deep hurt. The Holy Spirit is always waiting to help us if we ask. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with God’s love this week.
