St. Vincent College placed within the top ranking for national liberal arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the college said in September.
This ranking makes it 11 years in a row that St. Vincent earned the recognition, which is based on several measurements. These include “graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence by peers, faculty resources, social mobility, admission selectivity and alumni engagement,” the college said in a Sept. 14 release.
U.S. News listed 233 liberal arts colleges to the list and St. Vincent ranked 140th, in the top tier of the schools picked, the release said. Additionally, the college ranked 63rd in liberal arts colleges on the U.S. News & World Report’s list for Top Performers on Social Mobility ranking.
“We are appreciative of our acknowledgment by U.S. News & World Report as a top tier national liberal arts college,” St. Vincent College President Rev. Paul R. Taylor said in the release. “This recognition is not only a testament to the achievements of our students and alumni, but also to the hard work of our dedicated faculty and staff. Through our rigorous curriculum and emphasis on the importance of community, we prepare our students for careers as leaders and to lead meaningful lives.”
The school has also been praised by Money magazine in 2020 as well as College Factual on the Best Colleges for the Money list and WalletHub on the Best College and Universities list, the college said in the release. The New York Times stated in a 2019 study that SVC had both high retention and graduation rates.
“We are committed to providing financial aid that makes it possible for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to receive a college education,” Taylor said in the release. “With the transformative experience delivered by our faculty and staff, our students are uniquely prepared to succeed during their time at Saint Vincent and beyond.”
