St. Joseph Catholic Church recently issued the following announcement.

Event Name: Jamaican Student Sponsorship Drive

Date: September 19, 2020 - September 20, 2020

Dearest Brothers and Sisters,

Due to the recent pandemic, many in Jamaica have suffered from wage loss; the same as many within the United States. The COVID-19 virus has placed our church into a situation in which we cannot donate items to Jamaica via Food For The Poor, nor can we send a 2021 Jamaica Mission Team. Though these decisions are sorrowful, we may still provide aid for the Jamaican children by sponsoring a child attending the St. Margaret Mary School in Lionel Town, Jamaica. With much prayer and introspection, I ask each of you to consider sponsoring a child.

There are several ways to bless these precious one:

1. For those who are gifted with promoting, help spread the word and encourage individuals to support the Drive.

2. Assist with the Drive itself.

3. Shower the children, the St. Margaret Mary School, the teachers, the staff, and, the parents with much prayer. Remember them during your devotions to our Holy Mother - the Rosary.

4. Donate a monetary gift of any size. It is the expressed desire and hope of the Jamaica Alumni Team that those who would have purchased items to donate, or, would have made a contribution to the 2021 Mission Team, instead consider a donation towards the St. Margaret Mary School.

5. Donate a full scholarship of $300.00.

This year's Drive will be held on September 12th & 13th, and, September 19th & 20th after each Mass.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at: teach36@comcast.net. With Sincere Gratitude, Regina Mejo
