The principal celebrant of the Mass at the Christian outdoor festival AbbeyFest in Paoli, Pennsylvania, is encouraging participation at the event, which is held on Saturday, Sept. 16.
Archbishop Nelson Perez of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been the principal celebrant since 2021 to AbbeyFest, the event’s website said. The event will start at 2 p.m. (doors open at noon) at AbbeyFest Ministries, 220 S. Valley Road, Paoli.
“Join me for @TheAbbeyFest Faith & Music Festival 2023 at @DaylesfordAbbey on September 16th. I look forward to seeing you there!” Perez tweeted on Twitter.
This family-friendly event offers a faith-based experience suitable for people of all ages to participate in and enjoy, according to AbbeyFest. Children, teenagers and youth groups are encouraged to attend and be part of the experience in faith.
AbbeyFest will showcase performers, including Village Lights, Gus deSimone and others. The event will also feature speakers.
Perez will preside over a large Mass during the afternoon and will close the festival with a candlelight adoration, the website said.
“I am thrilled to announce that AbbeyFest is back for 2023,” said Archbishop Perez in a video message posted to his Twitter. “Pencil in September 16 on your calendar for the region's premier celebration of faith, music, and family, at Daylesford Abbey in Paoli. This year's headliners include Matthew West, five-time Grammy nominee, and Riley Clemmons, whose work has been featured on 512 million global streams. Her music has racked up an astounding 84 million views on YouTube alone.”
Event proceeds will be reinvested in AbbeyFest to ensure its continuation, the AbbeyFest website said.
“This amazing event is for people of all ages,” Perez said in his message. “I'll be there to celebrate Mass and enjoy the day, so, please join me. I hope to see you at AbbeyFest 2023, God Bless you!”
