Holy Spirit Catholic Church recently issued the following announcement.
Happy Labor Day to all! I hope you get to spend some time with friends and/or family. I also hope everyone involved in schools had a successful beginning. Our PREP program will start on September 13. We have started a more comprehensive online option for those students who would rather not enter the classroom, and so we will have fewer students for our in-person classes Sunday mornings. Thank you to our volunteer catechists for braving the classroom through this ministry. Thank you also to our volunteer laborers who put in new tile flooring and repainted all the walls to allow for a cleaner work area. Our 6-8th graders will have an all-online curriculum and will regularly meet one-on-one with volunteer mentors for 20 minute sessions. These sessions will allow an opportunity for more free-flowing, mature conversations about faith and spirituality, as well as personal attention to students to help foster an environment where they can ask more questions and resultantly develop their skills to engage other peers and adults in spiritual dialogue. Our RCIA program, which starts on September 23, will have only eight in-person lessons on Wednesday nights and will follow the Symbolon series for online learning on formed.org. If you or anyone you know is thinking about becoming Catholic, there is still time to find out more about the RCIA by contacting the Parish office.
