Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem recently issued the following announcement. 

Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Come join us at Saint Francis Retreat House, 3918 Chipman Rd., Easton, PA 18045, for a weekend of prayer and reflection on our call to become our true selves in Christ. 

We will reflect on this inner and outer journey through the Scriptures and the eyes of Francis and Clare. 

In the last 35 years another type of retreat has gained great popularity. It is called a “Private Retreat” where an individual comes to a retreat house, not with a group but alone, to step aside from daily routines and to spend time with the Lord. 

In a Private Retreat, the Holy Spirit is the retreat director. 

The individual uses his or her time for private prayer and meditation, spiritual reading and listening to God speaking from within. 

Sometimes a person on a Private Retreat desires to meet with a spiritual director. These are called Directed Retreats.
