ST. JANUARIUS CHURCH: Volunteers Needed

Announcements

Press release submission Sep 12, 2020

Vol2

St. Januarius Church recently issued the following announcement.

Jesus calls us to care for the elderly and give them our greatest respect.

The Holy Family Parish SOS Ministry Home and Transportation and Services (HaTS) is a volunteer based service that provides non-medical services that assist and aid Holy Family senior parishioners that are 55 years of age and older.

Our mission is to help our seniors so that they can remain living in their homes and communities and remain independent and healthy.

Assistance may include transportation to medical appointments, caregiver relief, friendly visits, minor home repairs, help around the house, minor yard work, errands, shopping, etc.

The SOS COVID-19 protocol prevents SOS volunteers from performing services within recipients’ homes. The SOS HaTS Ministry needs volunteers to assist us in providing these services to Holy Family senior parishioners.

The amount of time that you spend per week can vary between 0 to 3 hours or more-whatever you prefer. However, you can be involved as much as you want because you always have the option to accept a recipient request or not. This will provide our seniors with comfort and help when their family members cannot be there.

If you would like to be an SOS Volunteer, simply call the Home and Transportation Services at the Rectory (412-793-4511, ext-107) or Barb at 724-327-3996.
