St. Matthias Catholic Chruch recently issued the following announcement.
GENERAL POINTS
- The obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation continues to be lifted. You are not required to attend Mass at this time.
- Please stay home if you are sick.
- Please stay home if you are at higher risk of severe illness.
ENTERING THE CHURCH
- Please wear a mask.
- Use the hand sanitizer upon entering the Church.
- Maintain a distance of six feet from others.
SEATING
- Only a limited number of pews will be open to ensure proper social distancing.
- Members of the same household may sit together as normal. Please keep 6 feet between your household and members of a different household.
DURING MASS
- Please continue to wear your face covering while in church.
- No collection taken up during the Offertory. Instead you are asked to put your offerings in containers that will be placed by the doors.
RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION
- There will be one communion station at the head of the center aisle. Please return to your pew by way of the side aisles.
- Please maintain social distancing in the Communion line and when returning to your pew.
- The faithful are asked to receive Holy Communion in the hand.
EXITING THE CHURCH
- At the conclusion of Mass, please maintain social distancing and do not block the aisles or the sidewalk.
- Between each Mass we will use disinfectants on the pews in use, door handles, and other frequently touched areas.
