Sacred Heart Church issued the following announcement on Sept. 9.
Sight is something most of us take for granted. But for those who do not have this wonderful blessing, we must be willing to help in any way we can. Each year the Twin County Lions Club, in conjunction with Lions International, has a fund drive to help those in need. This drive takes place each year on the last Sunday in October and is known as "White Cane Sunday." All funds collected at this time are used to provide assistance to the blind. Last year the money collected went to Leader Dog Association, to help them in their work with the Sight Impaired. They provide free help to those in need, such as training Guide Dogs and instructing the Sight Impaired in their use and care. THIS SUNDAY, October 27th , we are asking each of the churches in our service area to help make this drive a success. Our Lions Club members will be collecting donations outside the churches after Masses THIS WEEKEND. Please contact the White Cane Committee for any further information: Tom Dalesandro (384-4488).
