Immaculate Conception Church, Jenkintown issued the following announcement on September 13.
Race in America: Virtual Book Club Through September 15, 2020 8:00 to 9:00pm
Facilitators: Lori Okema and Jared Epler Join us for 13 weeks as we journey through the book “White Fragility: Why it’s so hard for white people to talk about racism” by Robin Diangelo.
This group is a safe space to ask questions, to voice your thoughts, and to gain a deeper sense of what it means to be white and to be black in the United States in 2020.
This space isn’t about being “called out;” this is a space to be “called in” to have an important, authentic, intentional conversation about race in America, and what we (as white people) can do better. Week 1 (June 23) we will share introductions and an overview. Weeks 2-13, we will discuss one chapter at a time.
The cost of participating in this group is $20; 100% of the proceeds will go to the Equal Justice Initiative; a zoom link will be emailed after registration.
