St. Alphonsus Church, Maple Glen issued the following announcement on September 13.
Dear Parishioners, Two weeks ago, I shared with you that Frank Stieber is our new Director of Music Ministry and, as such, will oversee the entirety of our music program here at Saint Alphonsus. This change provides a twofold benefit: first, it allows a more focused coordination of our music ministry and second, it allows us to utilize our parish resources is a way that more directly addresses the needs of our parish community, specifically in the areas of communications and technology. While the pandemic has certainly brought these needs into greater focus, our Pastoral Council and Communications Committee have already been working very hard to help me formulate a plan for how we can improve our systems and our outreach.
As I shared back in May, the areas we have been working on include our parish database (both the quality of our information and the database program itself), bulletin, social media and website. We have made a great deal of progress in studying each of these and are now in the process of implementing some changes and enhancements. In our discussions, one thing that became very clear was the need for someone on our parish staff to coordinate our communication efforts, ensure the smooth running of our systems and oversee our technology, especially in the areas of livestreaming Liturgies, meetings and other parish events.
I am pleased to announce that, effective September 21st, Mr. Jeffrey Clements will join our parish staff as the new Director of Communications and Technology. Jeff will be invaluable in helping our staff to improve the effectiveness of our communications and ensure that we are doing everything possible to deepen our sense of community here at Saint Alphonsus. We already have so many good things happening here, but often it is difficult to get the word out or to successfully keep our parishioners up-to-date on the many services and activities of our parish. I know that Jeff’s many talents and his enthusiasm will be a great gift to us all. Jeff has worked for the past three years for Our Lady of Mercy School, so he is known already by many of you. Please join me in welcoming him to our parish staff and in praying for his transition and his service to our community.
It is your generous and prayerful support that allows me and our parish staff to serve you and to respond to the diverse and changing needs of our parish. It is my hope that this new position will strengthen our already great parish and be a springboard to even more opportunities for us to grow in faith and friendship.
Sincerely in Christ,
Monsignor Hennessy
