St. Gabriel Church recently issued the following announcement.
And this article will have a few less than that! When the pandemic struck late last winter/early that all churches of our diocese be closed to the faithful as a safety measure. Concurrently, he encouraged livestreaming of a weekend Liturgy as a means of inviting community participation in prayerful worship. Initially, livestreamed Masses were celebrated in all of our legacy parishes on a rotating basis. On June 6th, when our churches Space that had been utilized for livestreaming was now needed for worshippers. A decision was reached shortly thereafter to utilize St. Valentine Church (due to its choir loft) as the primary site for our YouTube Channel Mass. We thank Chris Galgon, Rex Gleeson, Sr. and on occasion Marjorie Rishel for providing this valuable service—as well as Dean Kniola and Rex Gleeson, Jr. for their behind the scenes assistance. For effective sound in church and online, additional wiring needed . To divert attention from the wires, pictures/paintings have been placed in front of the ambo. These have included a beautiful rendering of Jesus and children from the Wee Believers Room, an icon of the Blessed Trinity from Fr. Charlie's collection, A Madonna of the Streets painting from Medugorie, and most recently one of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, painted by a talented member of Grouping 218, Philip J. Lahr. We thank those who have allowed/will allow use of their religious artwork for this purpose.
