St. Vincent College
St. Vincent College reported that its Student Government Association’s Executive Board has a new president.
Robert Gigliotti has been elected to the position after serving as treasurer this year. He graduated from Seton-La Salle High School and is currently a biology major in his junior year.
Hailing from Pittsburgh, Gigliotti served as the president of St. Vincent College’s American Medical Student Association. He has also been heavily involved in a number of extra clubs, including the Spanish Club and St. Vincent’s chapter of Tri-Beta, which is a national biological honor society for high-performing students.
Gigliotti said that the community at St. Vincent is unparalleled in a way that everyone feels like family.
“While searching for colleges,” Gigliotti said, “the community and family-like atmosphere here was unmatched.”
While he has been involved in SGA since he started attending St. Vincent College, his entrance into formal leadership in the association came out of a desire to support his fellow classmates at the school.
“I wanted to pursue the role of SGA president out of a passion for SGA and for Saint Vincent College as a whole,” Gigliotti wrote. “While in office, I plan on pursuing capital projects in both academic and athletic categories. Additionally, I, along with the rest of SGA, plan on doing everything we can for student life in the upcoming semester.”
Gigliotti’s track record of academic achievement speaks for itself, being a member of the Dean’s List, in addition to his other accomplishments. His excellence in academics will lend themselves to his success as president of SGA’s executive board.
He plans to follow up his college education with optometry school.
Gigliotti’s parents, Robert and Linda, attend St. Margaret of Scotland parish in Greentree.
Gigliotti was sworn into office at the Fred M. Rogers Center on Nov. 14, during the annual gavel ceremony.
