Diocese of Pittsburgh
The Diocese of Pittsburgh will be hosting its third annual 30 Days of Gratitude event this November, as a way of reminding the parishioners to always thank God for the blessings in their lives.
Being grateful is an important element of being a devout Catholic, as it directs the human person to always acknowledge where their gifts come from.
“Even on your hardest days, how is God blessing you? On Nov. 1, the diocese kicks off 30 Days of Gratitude, helping you harness gratitude’s power to change your outlook on life. Text Gratitude2021 to 84576 for gratitude challenges,” the Diocese of Pittsburgh tweeted.
During the course of the campaign, the diocese will be posting gratitude-related posts to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on a daily basis. Every week will have its own theme: Gratitude and Prayer, Gratitude in Action, Gratitude in Relationships, Gratitude for the Eucharist, while the final days will be Gratitude Challenge Reflections, according to Pittsburgh Catholic.
It has been documented that showing gratitude on a regular basis helps to reduce stress and depression, while increasing feelings of optimism, improving social bonds and even helping physical health, according to Nationwide Childrens.
The Catholic Spirit explains that the eucharist, which is central to the Catholic faith, comes from the Greek word for thanksgiving. It is an important practice to always show our gratefulness to the world.
