Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Perez expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported a fundraising effort that is close to his heart.

In 2020, the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia created the Archbishop's Ministry Support Fund as a way to offer financial aid to ministries and initiatives Perez considered vital to the local Church's life.

“I offer my prayerful gratitude to all who have supported these vital ministries in our local Church,” Perez said in a March 15 tweet.

The fund provides financial assistance to organizations and programs across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, concentrating on providing spiritual and temporal support to meet the community's needs, according to Catholic Philly. 

Among other things, the Archbishop’s Ministry Support Fund provided a grant to the Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) organization, which enabled the establishment of a chapter in the Philadelphia area. YCP is the leading Catholic network for young professionals across the U.S. and currently has chapters in 28 cities. The fund also supported The Culture Project in establishing a strong presence in the Archdiocese, according to Catholic Philly.

People can make donations year-round. To support the fund, you can make one-time or recurring donations, pledge gifts over a specified period, transfer funds electronically, donate cryptocurrency or offer gifts of appreciated securities.

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia was built on the principles of faith, service and trusted relationships. 

"We strive to inspire and foster Catholic philanthropy through education, collaboration and meaningful stewardship, and secure donations to support the ministries of our faith. These pillars that define us, combined with your passion for serving others and serving Christ, creates community impact and effects real change," the group said online.
